HOPE Schools

COME Uganda has a passion to see its students grow up in a Christ-centred environment where they can be nurtured in their faith and given a quality education so that they can reach their full potential. COME operates Nursery and Primary schools in 3 regions of Uganda, and many of our students are from severely disadvantaged families. The schools are funded for the most part through sponsorships and parent contributions. However, the schools have started taking paying students with a long term view to become self sufficient.

Our teachers at HOPE Schools completed a series of Transformational Teacher Training Course that will guide them to understand the character and purpose of teaching.

Kasengejje

HOPE Nursery & Primary operate on the same campus in Kasengejje, approximately 45 minutes from Kampala (capital city). The school currently has 230+ students enrolled, over half of which are recipients of the COME Uganda sponsorship program. Kasengejje is the 'sister' school to HOPE Primary Masanafu and students frequently take part in interschool activities and sports.  More sponsors are needed to see this school continue to help the Kasengejje community.

Meru Meru

Meru Meru is located in south western Uganda, about a five hour drive from Kampala. The school, initially started by the local church, then became a HOPE school in 2012. The Parents and Teachers Association run the school with support from COME Uganda, with fees coming from the parents. Many of the students received remarkable results in the recent national testing.  Sponsors are needed for each class and donations are needed for building.

HOPE
Primary
Masanafu

HOPE Primary, Masanafu was the first of 2 Primary Schools established by COME Uganda. It began in 2004 with one class and one teacher. It has now grown to cater for 193 students from the wider community. Masanafu is a sponsorship and fee paying school, with the majority of students receiving their education and basic needs due to the generosity of our supporters.

Kyakajja is a remote village in western Uganda. The school started in 2012 with 6 classes, but at the end of 2016, with the demolition of temporary classes, it restarted in 2017.  The new nursery classrooms are permanent buildings. The school has a strong PTA Committee which runs the school in partnership with COME Uganda.
